These are the standard questions that our Humphreys’ salespeople will ask you, to make sure that you’re getting the correct new Kubota tractor to fit your needs. In short, answering these questions will help you decide which tractor and which options make the most sense for you!

What is your main task for the tractor?

If you’ve been thinking about purchasing a tractor, you usually have a reason for it. What you’re primary reason is can help you determine the size, horsepower, and tires for your new Kubota. Here are some primary uses we see, with our initial recommendations:

  • Mowing your yard/yard work: BX or B series Kubota with a mid mount Deck. It can also be handy to have a loader and bucket with these machines as that can often act as mechanized wheelbarrow. This can be great for picking up sticks and limbs, carrying firewood, or even moving flowers or vegetation.
  • Rotary Cutting/ bush hogging: L Series or M series Kubota tractors. When it comes to bush hogging you’re going to want more power out of the PTO. L series and M series Kubota tractors have this power combined with comfortable seats and cabs to make this type of work more enjoyable. The heavier the stuff you’re cutting the more horsepower out of the PTO you’ll want.
  • 10+ Acre maintenance: L Series Kubota Tractors. These versatile tractors come in the 30-50hp ranges and can be great for a multitude of activities. From tilling for a garden to running a seeder to build that perfect food plot, this series of tractor, combined with a myriad of Land Pride implements will be able to get any job finished quickly and painlessly. We also highly recommend a loader and bucket for this kind of work, as you never know what you might get into.
  • Hay: M Series tractors. These heavy-duty Kubota tractors have the rear and loader lift capabilities necessary to pick up round bails. This, coupled with the horsepower necessary to pull a bailer or any other hay tool makes this the perfect series of tractor for any hay operation.

These are just a few of the more common tasks we see here at Humphreys’.
